Matthew Crowley was born in Alexandria and raised in Fairfax, Virginia.  He received his bachelor of science in Political Science from the University of Utah in 2000 and his Juris doctorate from American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington D.C. in 2003, where he excelled in its nationally recognized clinical program in his third year.  Apart from his years in undergraduate school, Mr. Crowley has lived in the Northern Virginia area his entire life.  He was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 2003 and has practiced all over Northern Virginia, as well as the Piedmont region of Virginia.

Background

For the first 11 years of his career, Mr. Crowley was a trial lawyer focusing his practice on Criminal Defense and Personal Injury law, as well as Business, Real Estate, and General civil litigation.  After briefly practicing at a small firm in Herndon Virginia after law school, he began as an associate with the regionally respected law firm of Davies, Barrell, Will, Lewellyn & Edwards, PLC in Culpeper, Virginia in 2004 and was a partner at that firm from 2008 through 2014.   In 2008, he was the President of the Culpeper Bar Association, having served as its treasurer in 2007.  Mr. Crowley gained extensive courtroom experience all over the Commonwealth of Virginia in his years there, successfully handling a full range of criminal defense cases before judges and juries, from standard traffic infractions to felonies of the most serious variety.

Mr. Crowley now focuses his efforts exclusively on defending individuals who are facing misdemeanors, felonies, and serious traffic offenses in Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, and Culpeper Counties. He has successfully represented people from all walks of life, including celebrities, CEOs, government workers, business owners, their family members, and many others.   He is very well regarded by his peers and colleagues for his intellect and creative problem solving, as well as his court room presence.
